Take a peek inside the walls of a 1912 farmhouse and join us in bringing new life to the home and farmland. There are surprises around every corner, in every wall, and behind every door. We added 8′ onto the tiny kitchen to create a large accommodating kitchen and remodeled two bathrooms.

The Stucco Farmhouse was built in 1912 with maple hardwood floors throughout, stucco walls and 4” lap siding and has a full concrete rock basement below. The original footprint of the square house is 30’ by 20’, one and half story with a 12/12 pitch roof and four dormers. It is rock solid and overbuilt. Additions from the past included a back porch and a ‘doghouse’ or front entry and we just added a small kitchen addition in 2022. The interior changes have been many throughout its life.
The house resides on sixty acres with crop-farmed acres surrounding it. The flat sixty acres has a large pond, a few acres of forests, two grassland fields and pasture for beef cattle. The red Barn still stands large and proud in the front yard of the farm. The farmyard is circular in shape, beginning with the curved entry down the long gravel driveway. In 1912 when the house was built there was more farmland, very few trees, and no barn. Eventually the barn was erected along with fencing, running water and a main floor closet bathroom.

Farming Lifestyle Begins on the Land
Kids love the farm even if farm life is hard work, because, at the end of the day there is a certain amount of enjoyment that comes from all the work that was accomplished. The daily chores never look the same the next day. Farmers are inventive thinkers who solve new problems daily and have the personality of one who can continue moving forward when life gets hard, with a mindset of forward thinking. You have to be ready for a good challenge and not mind taking the time to achieve slow success through hard work which brings great joy and accomplishment.
Having the reins of farmlife for over ten years now, we know that in order to be a farmer you have to be very flexible, ready to learn, and be able to adapt to any situation. You really have to be fully committed to the lifestyle and all that comes with it. Being a logical thinker yet very creative are great attributes of a farmer. One could also benefit from having some sales and marketing skills because farmers grow food for people and it’s likely you will sell those goods.
